The Ngorongoro Crater is the world's largest intact caldera, a spectacular bowl about 265 sq km with walls up to 600m deep, home to 20,000–30,000 animals at any time. Tarangire is known for great migratory movement, birdlife, and a stunning baobab-dotted landscape with large elephant herds in the dry season.
